You voted for them, check out the results below. The big winner to me even though they finished third is The Wounded Kings. They are still fairly new to the scene and yet out-polled the likes of Electric Wizard, Candlemass, Pentagram, and Cathedral. No surprise to see Saint Vitus and Sleep come out on-top. They deserve it, true doom and stoner pioneers and a major influence on a lot of bands plus two of the most killer bands you could ever expect to see live. I think seeing Trouble poll so poorly is significant, imagine this poll 15 to 20 years ago, they would have finished near the top or possibly could have won; oh, how the mighty have fallen! The rest of the results are pretty predictable, as expected and where they should be in a poll like this but that is debatable of course. Thanks to the 855 people who voted, cheers.

I've never been into or against Saint Vitus, but their position is surprising. The same goes for Sleep. The Wounded Kings on the other hand, that's a stretch. Not to be rude but they're very boring. The bottom three, Paradise Lost, Evoken & My Dying Bride should be in the top 10. I don't get why Cathedral wasn't higher in the polls either. I'm glad so many beat out Reverend Bizarre. They are easily the most overrated Doom band ever. Fun poll though.

Anonymous, no offense but you have a pretty warped view of what is boring and what's not. To say The Wounded Kings is boring makes me question your age for one, and where you get your bias from. Most people I know find MDB boring, same with most of the PL stuff. Evoken are at least interesting to most people I know. You seem to think your opinion is the only opinion. You are certainly not on the same wave-length as most people. I knew from the start SV would win this poll and they deserve to. Sleep is questionable I agree but I would still say they belong in the top 10 easy. These polls are a snap shot into how people think and it is obvious it is nothing like you.
Interesting comments. I also knew that Saint Vitus would win this poll. Some people might not like them, that is fair enough but they are the most loved US doom band still in existence today. Whether some bands are boring or not is up to the listener, and it is way out of line to say outright a band is boring just because you think it is, at least word your thoughts differently. That is my penny worth.
I loved Paradise Lost, Evoken & My Dying Bride back in the day but they are old news and sound like it. Their music hasn't aged too well and Wounded Kings have a more timeless appeal. They are the new breed of doom and I find them to be exciting. Calling them boring is just too "out-there" dude. Sorry but I think you are just plain wrong.
I am on the same page as Jasmin. I used to like those bands like 10 years ago but they sound kind of boring compared to Wounded Kings and especially Lord Vicar but I think Vitus still beats them all. What I object to more is the Reverend Bizarre comment, that was just a insult to true doom fans everywhere.

The top 4 in this poll blow away the bottom 4....end of story.
