NEWS: FEN Announce Release Dates for New Album, Of Losing Interest ...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Following up on 2010’s breakout album, Trails Out of Gloom, Fen return to their heavier roots with the brand new album, Of Losing Interest! Once again recorded at Creativ Studios with longtime producer, Mike Southworth at the helm, the band have crafted themselves an album that perfectly balances the technical virtuosity of heavy metal with the more down to earth tones of the early 90’s alternative rock movement. Of Losing Interest will be available on August 14th through Nail Distribution in North America, Code 7 in the UK, and Clearspot International in Europe.

“In some ways, Of Losing Interest is a reversion to the bands pre-Trails sound, but this new album is a definite progression for us,” states Fen frontman, Doug Harrison, “the new album is a lot heavier than past albums, but it still has a ton of melody and, as a band, we’re took a more focused approach towards songcraft.”

Of Losing Interest will be exclusively premiered on The Heavy Planet website in August so that all can get a sneak peek of the album that’s already turning heads!

Fen will be hitting the road to begin support Of Losing Interest in September:

Aug 16th: Vancouver, BC – The Media Club (CD Release Party)
Sept 21st: Kamloops, BC – The Dirty Jersey
Sept 22nd: Salmon Arm, BC – Hideaway Pub
Sept 25th: Calgary, AB – Vern’s Bar
Sept 28th: Prince George, BC – Riley’s Pub
Sept 29th: Dawson Creek, BC – Rockwell’s

Here’s what the press has to say:

“Certainly, Of Losing Interestis different than its predecessor, but not entirely unexpected from Fen. Being heavier rock, even metal, the album still offers the listener their darker side. Recommended. 4 / 5”  –  Dangerdog

“10/10” – Steve Coughlin,Power of Metal

“FEN – “Of Losing Interest” (’12) – Once again, Ripple music strikes! This is the latest from progressive metal Canadians FEN & it’s a scorcher.. With a decidedly heavier flavor than their last offering, this one bursts forth with nods to Rush, Altered Moves Two (anybody remember them?!) & more, with lead guitar that holds its own with the likes of Shermann & Denner. This is friggin’ GOOOOD, maaan!”  – Ray’s Realm
