I Survived a Heart Attack, Now Another Battle Begins. PS: I Love You All ........

I am back, a little worse for wear, a little jaded and scared but with a new appreciation for being alive. Yes I had a heart attack but I will save you the depressing details but let me just say, the heart attack was far worse than I could have ever imagined. I would like to say thank-you to everyone that sent get-well wishes via emails and messages to this site. I also have to say big thanks to the few people who have donated since this knocked my ass into the dirt. Every one of your messages and donations means a lot to me and if there was any way of paying you back somehow I would do it. Thanks again.

So how did this life changing experience happen? For me, the experience was feeling my body jerk, followed by a gradual loss of consciousness. I think I had an out-of-body experience, because I remember watching myself lying there with my eyes closed. The doctors shocked me, and that brought me around. I remember them calling my name. I asked whether I was going to die and they said no. Back in the recovery room, I felt less than perfect but I was discharged three days later. Because I was advised to take it easy, I am supposed to be off work for a month but that is where this begins to bite hard. For me no work means, no pay so I will be forcing myself back to work next week against doctors orders. The damage is an enlarged heart that could quit at any moment, a life-time of heart medication and a hospital bill ($10,500) that I will either spend the rest of my life paying off or I will end up going to prison for. Needless to say, more than ever donations are appreciated. I am not going to dwell on this anymore than I have to but that is where I stand (or should I say lay) right now..Ed
